Experience Lake Lohjanjärvi and Hiidenvesi by canoeing

The largest waterways of southern Finland, Lohjanjärvi and Hiidenvesi provide magnificent possibilities for paddling and kayaking. The lake shores are nice to follow, seeing how nature teams with life. Feel a breath of fresh air on the open water and experience the lush summer green in the river estuary.  You are able to kayak Lake Lohja from Karkkila, Vihti and Nummela. From Lohja you can continue to Karjaa all the way to Pohja and Tammisaari.

Melontapooli is cooperative effort between the tourism -, outdoor activity -, and program service groups in the Lake Lohja and Hiidenvesi area. The Poolin cooperative effort is organized by Kisakallio Sport Institute and Lohja Tourist Service Center.

The coordinators who are involved in Melontapooli give directions to the people who are going kayaking or renting kayaks/canoes. It is also possible to get route maps from them between 15.5 – 15.9. Kayakists can start from one location and end the journey at a different location, leaving the equipment there. You are also able to order accommodation -, and dining-services from the  coordinators.  Activities also include enjoying moments in Finnish sauna and taking guided kayak excursions.

Lake Lohja and Hiidenvesi brings Melontapooli  tourism- and wilderness sport activity groups together on one map and combines their working methods. Kayakists may start from different locations, which also offer accommodations, dining-, washing- and program services. You can make a direct reservation for the starting point of your choice which is marked with a Melontapooli sign .
